My patients blood sugar is really low like 10/20 (normal is 70-100)
He has dextrose running, and despite that when we check his blood sugar it’s like 10-50. We keep doing the same thing- pushing 50% Dextrose through his IV, recheck it in half hour and same results-always below 70- this has been going on for the whole shift and the doctors have no idea
Pt is asymptomatic the whole time, talking, A&O x 4 etc despite a blood sugar of 10-50.
Anyone have a clue?
